We had an excellent result in the General Election in December and can now look forward to five years of strong Conservative government. Since he has been Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made law and order a top priority for government and as I found on the doorsteps in December this is a message that has struck a chord with voters. We now have the opportunity to build on that success in our local elections across Hertfordshire this May.
I have served as your Police and Crime Commissioner for the last 7 years and again have the honour of being your candidate at the election in May. I hope you will support me and will want to engage with and help shape our campaign.
I believe we have an excellent story to tell. Hertfordshire remains one of the safest counties in the UK, with a top performing police force and one of the lowest police precepts in the country. We have greatly improved the support available to those unfortunate enough to be victims of crime and successfully invested in efforts to tackle emerging threats such as knife crime and cybercrime. Perhaps most importantly I have listened to the people of Hertfordshire, and protected our local policing from the cuts seen across most of the rest of the country. In fact we currently have more police officers than when I first took office. I have also used my Police and Crime Plan to guarantee that every district and borough in Hertfordshire retains their own local police team - locally based, locally led and locally accountable.
n to your views so we can work together to shape what I hope to be another victorious campaign. I look forward to seeing you.
Every good wish,
