My Deputy is David Gibson, and he has been in the job since July 2013 and if re-elected I intend to reappoint him in the role.

Before joining my team, David spent 27 years working as a journalist at the BBC on a variety of programmes including Today, The World at One as well as on the main TV News bulletins.

Over the last 3 years he has deputised for me at national and local events, taken a lead role in supporting me in developing policies and used his media experience to support our programme of public engagement.

David has developed specific expertise in a number of areas including rural crime, and partnership issues including the broader criminal justice system.  He chairs the Operational Support Governance Board which oversees the work of the joint units we are developing to deliver services including Public Contact, Custody, Criminal Justice and Firearms Licencing in alliance with Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
